SHIDAE ELECTRIC Co., Ltd., founded in 1957, has built industrial electric motors for nearly 70 years. We hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and CE certifications and have been a type-approved elevator component manufacturer since 1994. Design, winding, machining, assembly and testing are all done in-house.
Our products include three-phase induction motors (0.4 to 37 kW), induction motors for elevators and escalators, hoisting motors for chain hoists and cranes, hydraulic pump motors, flange-mounted motors, explosion-proof motors and stainless steel motors.
We supply induction motors for elevators and escalators to many elevator companies in Korea. As the official Korean distributor of NIDEC KDS, a global traction machine maker within the NIDEC Group, we also supply KDS elevator traction machines, giving elevator makers a one-stop drive solution.
Our in-house lab optimizes voltage, frequency and torque by simulation, and we tailor shafts, frames, brackets, cooling and electrical specifications to each application. We have also developed our own globoid worm gear reducer and escalator drive motors, backed by gear and motor patents.

[Exhibit 1] NIDEC KDS Gearless Elevator Traction Machines
Gearless permanent-magnet traction machines from KDS (Kinetek De Sheng), a NIDEC Group company, supplied in Korea by SHIDAE ELECTRIC as the official distributor. KDS carries on over 110 years of drive technology dating back to Kinetek (founded 1908) and is NIDEC’s global traction machine production base.
On display are the WBT series for small and mid-size passenger elevators (630 to 1,150 kg, 1.0 to 2.5 m/s, internal rotor, plate brake, IP41) and the heavy-duty WJC-5000 series (3,500 to 5,500 kg, 1.0 to 3.0 m/s, external rotor, block brake). Both are gearless PM synchronous machines with low noise, low vibration and high efficiency, class F insulation, S5-40% duty, AC380V rating and DC110V brake supply, for both MR and MRL installations.
[Exhibit 2] Globoid Worm Gear Reducer
A worm gear reducer for elevator and escalator drives, developed in-house by SHIDAE ELECTRIC. A globoid (hourglass-shaped) worm enlarges the contact area between worm and wheel, giving higher load capacity and durability in the same frame size. Developed together with our escalator drive motors, it lets customers source motor and reducer from one supplier, backed by our motor design expertise since 1957 and gear reducer patents.
