Company Introduction

The Korea Elevator Safety Institute (KESI) is a designated inspection body authorized by the Minister of the Interior and Safety under Article 37(1) of the Elevator Safety Management Act. KESI conducts periodic safety inspections of elevators to ensure their safety and protect the lives and property of the public.

In addition, KESI carries out various activities to promote the sustainable development of the elevator industry and advance safety management technologies. These activities include research and studies, technology development and technical support, professional training, and cooperation with domestic and international organizations.

KESI also participates in research and development projects involving AI-based predictive maintenance and overspeed and reverse-running prevention technologies for escalators, contributing to accident prevention and the advancement of elevator safety management through innovative technologies.
Wise Pulse is an AI-based predictive maintenance solution that analyzes escalator operational data and IoT sensor information to detect abnormal conditions, predict potential failures, and analyze their causes.

The solution is currently undergoing field demonstrations on escalators in real-world operation to validate the applicability and effectiveness of AI-based fault analysis and predictive maintenance technologies.

In addition, the research project combines AI-based power consumption analysis for improved energy efficiency with escalators equipped with overspeed and reverse-running prevention functions, aiming to commercialize intelligent escalator safety management technologies that enhance passenger safety and maintenance efficiency.
